Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M early and very slow this morning, probably the slowest run I can remember. I just could not wake up and get the body moving. Made it home just in time for a nature call and decided that was good enough for my first run. (T2)

5M at lunch in a tornado!  30mph with gusts to 50mph coming at you from all directions...it sucked.  I got it done in 35:45 and was very happy to be done! (T3)

Same here this morning. I didn't even want to leave the bed. The whole body was tired. We've both been busy and have had late nights. I'm sure your travel has fatigued you a bit.

From Robert on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 15:34:42 from 71.32.163.35

I think Tues running is the hardest for me mentally and physically.

From wheakory on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 16:44:07 from 134.50.89.33

There's days when I know I need to run a fast training run, and those can be my hard days to get motivated. I'm just a lazy person.

From wheakory on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 16:47:17 from 134.50.89.33

Jeff that's what it was like this morning here. You couldn't predict or tell where the wind was coming from. Nice run and good training to run in a strong wind. I'm glad I didn't do it again on my lunch hour. :-) The wind is still blowing like that now.

Did you run the course that they changed for the Teton Marathon? Was the change in the beginning and gave it more of an uphill start?

From jtshad on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 16:52:36 from 204.134.132.225

I have not run the new course, but the first half now appears to have as much of an uphill as the second half.

I don't need to run this one to try and get a slow time (the times recorded don't qualify it with an asterisk saying "Hard course").

From jtshad on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 16:53:09 from 204.134.132.225

Besides, I am a good downhill runner and look forward to trying to drop a fast time at UV.

From Bill Mandler on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 19:24:34 from 72.24.152.3

Kory, the new course for the Teton dam marathon not only has a big uphill section in the first half now, it is on a GRAVEL road for about 8 miles. It is NOT a PR course.

From Jon on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 13:59:07 from 138.64.2.76

But is it picturesque?

From jtshad on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 15:40:45 from 204.134.132.225

TDM is not particularly picturesque.
