"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Ran on the pipeline trail in Millcreek Canyon. Some packed snow, slush, and mud, but some nice dry stretches too. Beautiful weather with sun, low 50's and light wind. I was in Salt lake this morning visiting with my dad, and brought my running gear along. Encountered lot's of hikers, other runners, and dogs. So many dogs. All friendly dogs with happy smiles on there faces! Nice slow pace for most of the run.

Such fine weather. I'm jealous. I guess I've always thought of Utah as having harsher winters than we have. Is this normal for you?

It seems like Winter has changed over hte last 10+ years. Winters here seem milder than they used to be. Our weather has always been a little schizophrenic though. I've seen snow in July (at 9700 feet), and Januarys with 60 degree days. So, I don't know if the climate change is producing less big dumping snowstorms or what, but it's definately different than when I was a kid.

I always assumed that it just rained all the time in the Northwest. I didn't know you ever got snow.

It sounds like you had a really pleasant run.

We've had a pretty mild winter here in Denver this year. We've had some pretty cold temperatures, but some warm days too, and very little snow.
