"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels
Nice proverb. And way to get up and out there early.

Carolyn - Thanks. I usually feel like such a slouch when I see that EVERY morning you get out early and get it done. You're so disciplined!
Nevels - uh...yeah...

FUNNY!!!! My alarm was set for 4:30, but at 2 am I turned it off and decided NOT to get up. I am so tired. BUT it was miserable hot this afternoon (I know, it will get hotter) so you made the right choice to go early!
Sorry you were not feeling it yesterday afternoon, but the weather was IDEAL!!!

Running early builds character. But you're such a character already I'm not sure how much you need...

Lysa - I'll probably end up kicking myself for entering the race.
Kelli - I do that alot. I'll wake up in the middle of the night and decide I'll be too tired to get up early, so I'll change my alarm setting.
Snoqualmie - I need to build more character that's for sure.
