"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Sunset 6 on the LPT. Post rain, 40F, clean air!

It had rained all day and I assumed I'd be running on the treadmill tonight, but the rain stopped just as I was driving home from work. Easy run but when I turned around at mile three to come back, I had turned just ahead of a runner who was coming my direction and I used his presence to push a fast 4th mile out @ 7:43...fast for me anyway.

Gotta love when you have someone push you a little. That happened to me today, I had this KID take off in front of me, we were holding a 7:30 or so and he would surge every now and then, I think to test me. I passed him once, but I had to bump it to 6:50 or so. I held that for about .25 miles, because I knew he was back there. But that's about all I had. I kept him within striking distance until he pulled up and stopped. Since we were on an indoor track, and he had stopped off the side to stretch, he could see that I had kept going and going, so I guess I had the final chuckle.

Good run! You'll get a PR this year with this base your building!

nice job, you've got 12 or so miles on me on the year, keeps me moving to catch up to you! Scott

Jona - Thanks. Those kids are fast! He would have had me whupped at 6:50. Nice PR at Painters this year.

Redrooster - even if I had a twelve mile headstart you would eventually catch me, and pass me with your natural speed! Glad Cache Valley is seeing some cleaner air this week.

I think 7:43 is fast. Good job!

Carolyn, I agree, 7:43 is fast. Keep on truckin!
