"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Looking for that peaceful easy feeling on the Syracuse trail (all asphalt btw). Mostly sunny, 40F, winds 12-15+mph.

I planned on 8 miles, but the further out I got on the trail, the more rural the surroundings got, and what with the ideal temps, sunshine, pastures, and horses, I sort of got absorbed in thought and before I knew it the  mile alert went off on my watch and I was surprised to see I had gone out 5 miles. I felt good so I stretched it out to 5.5 miles then turned around and came back.

By the way, my old bud Lysa is on the blog now! Even though I was 27 yrs old when I first met Lysa, we kind of grew up together, we've both gone from wild single crazy party people lol! to "responsible" married, home owning, tax paying, child raising (for Lysa), and now running "adults". We've stayed in touch sporadically over the years. It's very cool that she's here! Give her a hello when you get a chance. Oh the times we had!!

No yoga. I do eat alot of yogurt though.

that's cool that you can get your workouts in at home. How are the running routes from your house?

"...and I know you won't let me dooooowwwwn..." Now I'm going to have that song going through my head all morning. Oh well, it's a good one. Better than... oh, no --- mustn't even think of it.

That's the best kind of run, getting lost in the miles. Good run!

I did say hi to Lysa when I saw her on the "new kids" list, but now I know she's your buddy I will like her even more.

Congratulations on finding that peaceful easy feeling. I'm going to try to stop by your store later this afternoon. I'm getting a pedicure in Farmington right now.
