"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Late afternoon run. It's been almost two weeks since my last TM run and I was jones'n for a little treadmill action. LOL! Progression starting at 8:57 pace for the first mile and worked  up to 7:56 for the last mile. Went a little harder than I planned but the TM is gentle on the legs so I think I'll be alright.

Another thing I like about treadmill runs is I can wear shoes that have no business being still unretired.

Jones'n for a little treadmill action? Really? I'm glad you like it.

Carolyn, I may have been joking...sometimes though it's nice to have the option of the treadmill when I just don't feel like dealing with the weather etc.

OK, if it's a joke, that's fine. But we might have to do an intervention if things get serious...

Hey, im trying to figure this out. Ive got an eliptical and thats what i did today. That and weights. squats and lunges etc for strength. Do you do weights ever? I think they really help with strength

From JD on Tue, Mar 24, 2009 at 18:25:26 from 64.65.159.206

Hey Lysa! I don't do any weight lifting. I do situps 2 or 3 times a week, and pushups once in awhile. I need to be more consistent with the situps, they seem to really help with the running.

Check out the discussion forum, you'll find lots of quality info on all things related to running/crosstraining etc.

Good to see you here!
