"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Easy TM run.

This just in: it's remarkably easy to turn a treadmill OFF.

I just started reading "The Call Of The Wild" by Jack London. Oh my goodness!

But much harder to hit it with a sledgehammer. Best to just stay away...

Oh, Jack London. Makes me cold just thinking about it.

Snowed in, eh? I'm sure you got more snow than we did. We only got about an inch. It looks all pretty and white now.

Snoqualmie and Carolyn - you two are hard core - get out the door very early no matter what the conditions - dedicated runners who put me to shame every day when I read your blogs! Good job! You have the true spirit of running in you and I can only hope to acheive your level of dedication someday.

Thanks for the inspiration!

! (This is an exclamation point, in case any one was wondering!)! :-)

I can't speak for Snoqualmie, but I would probably run on a treadmill more often if it were more convenient. As it is, I have to drive 10-15 minutes each way in order to use a treadmill, and I just don't have that much extra time in the morning.

There are situations where I will break down and use the treadmill. For example, if we had more than a couple of inches of snow, I would go for the treadmill. We haven't gotten that much snow here all winter. However, I have run on the treadmill twice for weather-related reasons, once because of ice and once because of single-digit temperatures.

We've got a "nice" (ha) TM in the basement. Vile thing.

Thanks for the compliment. :) And btw, you wild thing, using punctuation for its original function!
