3:25, 3:15, sub 3:00 marathon? The sky's the limit! I want to see how fast I can get! :) Personal: I started running in 2009, and am still learning a lot about running. Right now I have it made, I am living in Cambridge, MA temporarily doing a Post-Doc at MIT and taking advantage of improving my running by learning from all the speedy Boston runners and hitting the hills. I travel to FL to visit my family and get some "heat" training in. Then travel back to Chicago frequently to see my husband and show off my new running legs in all the flat, fast races. |

Cambridge Charles River trying to hit as much dirt as possible; 3.23 mi in 30:21, 9:24 min/mi AP. Everything felt fine after the long run yesterday, legs just felt heavy in a good way. Hopped on the bike for 30 mins on an easy gear and averaged a cadence of 89 rpm. Avg speed 12.8 mph for 6.39 mi.

| Boston Charles River. Easy pace at 9:21 min/mi AP. Stride paces were: 6:04, 6:37, 6:21, 6:16, 6:11, 5:59 min/mi. Woa!! A bit slower than before. I think I'm guarding though. 4.96 mi total in 48:14. Hopped on the bike for 30 mins on an easy gear and averaged a cadence of 89 rpm for 6.35 mi at 12.7 mph. I think the bike is evening me out. I'm getting a lot of imbalances but then feel like I didn't even run after I get off the bike. Quad is still feeling good!

| 15 min w.u. 8-10 x 1 min on, 1 min off @ 10k effort 10 min c.d.
Cambridge treadmill at 1% incline. wu and recoveries @ 6.3 mph. on's at 8 mph, cd @ 6.5 mph. 5.6 miles in 50:06. This felt good. The first couple were weird but then settled into a rythm. Finished feeling like I could have done more or could have run the ons faster. Then did some light strength work.

| Treadmill in Cambridge at 1% incline; 15 min wu at 6.3 mph then 6 intervals @ 7.3 mph for MP and 6.3 mph for recoveries, 15 min cd @ 6.5 mph. 7.52 mi in 1:06:30. Then 40 mins of body weight strength work. My left adductor was a little tight, but didn't bother me too much on my run. My quad was great. I felt like I hadn't run at all after I finished with strength work. I think dropping back the intensity and amount of strength and adding the bike is helping me recover faster.

Out and back on the Boston Marathon course from Cambridge. 14.22 mi in 2:05:46, 8:51 min/mi AP. The first few miles made me question my fitness, once I got to heartbreak hill, my confidence came back and I was pleasantly surprised how strong my legs felt. 381 ft elevation gain. I didn't even think about my quad, I think it's no longer an issue! Walked a bit and stretched to cool down. Then took an ice bath. Eek!
