Train for pacific crest trail thru hike 2017.

Run lots of miles and lose some weight in the process.

I want to beat my half marathon PR. And if I'm in shape to do that then I should be able to crush my marathon PR.

Is the plan of 80-90mpw too much for me at this point in my running career? It might destroy me.  I survived the 80mpw for a season but that was also extremely aggressive. Its man vs. reason.

you're going to run 85 mpw on almost no training for the past several months? If you're going to not have time to run in a couple months why not go for it, especially since you've never been injured in the past really with stress fractures, etc. are you still planning on the mohawk half?

I have been running 40-56 miles per week for the past 2 months but I haven't been updating fastrunningblog because to me that much running doesnt seem like real training. So I am doing a single transition week of 70ish mpw and then going for 85 for the next 2 months. After that I may or may not be able to continue at that level. For the followin 3 months I have internal medicine which is known to be the 3rd hardest rotation but the hours arent nearly as bad as surgery or ob/gyn. I think like 7-4 or 5 most days with 7-7 thrown in every 3rd or 4th day.
