Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Completed California International Marathon in 2008 and 2009.  I have finished several olympic distance triathlons.  I was a pretty good swimmer in college.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I hope to take my fitness to a more serious level by dropping some weight ,running every day, and increasing mileage.

Long-Term Running Goals:

In five years (when I'm sixty years old) I might be able to qualify for the Boston Marathon and complete an Iron-distance triathlon.

Personal:

I am a photographer, married, and my best friend is my fox red lab, "Sutter".  

I live in Nevada City, California and teach high school English.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich at 10 p.m.

 Ran the Pioneer trail out 6 miles, then back.  Single track - uphill gradually.

 Nice to run someplace different.  Getting tired of Champion Mine Road

Ran on the canal off of Gracie Road.  Very nice.  Had not been up there in about a year.

So tired and sore in the leg muscles.  I guess that a 10K race, followed by a 12 mile trail run took its toll.

Why didn't I loose weight?  (Be patient - tomorrow I might)

It was over one hundred degrees today, even in Grass Valley.  I did NOT feel like running. But Sue wanted to go.  We drove up Gracie and ran on the canal.  Very cool.  Literally.  I planned on walking, but ended up running and feeling much better than yesterday.  

Tomorrow, maybe I will try and get an hour's worth of running in.  I just think that it's prudent to take it easy during this heat, and during the first few weeks of teaching. 

 Sutter enjoyed the swim.  What a great dog.  I love him so much.  He's all lab.

It was over one hundred again today.  But I ran 6 miles along the Cascade Canal.  

 

Good run.  I didn't feel great, but - never the less - felt pretty damn good.  Especially for it being so hot.  I love this run.  The one big concern is the rocks sticking out of the ground.  Pretty tricky footing.  I will just be careful

 This morning I barely broke into the 213 barrier.  Hurray!  I will be less than 212.0 by my birthday in less than two weeks.  I will be less than 208. by the Sacramento Marathon.

 

Keep it up.

 

By the way, my time was 1:07 something.

Hurray!  I am at 212.5  pounds.  But I won't stay here.  Thank you Higher Power.

Felt great on the run.  Getting faster.  Had a big ol' burger for dinner with chips and mayo and tomato.  Also downed two of Susie's cookies and a 100 calorie ice cream bar.  Total calorie count is accurate.

It just feels right to take a day off today.  I think that 6 days a week is enough.

Cool today.  Summer is loosing its grip.

 VERY irritable for the Land Trust Mavis Staples concert.
