Met at Sugarhouse and ran 2 miles before. Then did the Cemetery run but added on at the end to get to 10! Felt good and I was glad that I took yesterday off because my knee didnt hurt at all.

Ran down to Sunnyside and then did another 3 miles before finding out the workout was at the U track. Jogged up to there and did a mile of speed changes. Jogged a lap and started the workout which was 2 sets of 2x800 with 1 minute in between 800 and 2 laps jog in between sets. Hit 2:18 and 2:20 for the first set then 2:22 and 2:22 for the last set. Jogged back to house for 12.

Another 2 miles later.

Ran at the Hogle Zoo Trail. Got there a bit early and ran up Emigration Canyon for 4 miles. Then went out along the Shoreline for 3.5 and turned around. Added to 8 when we got back. Did some core stuff and then jogged home for 14.

Got there around 6:30 and the raced started at 7. Jogged the final 1k of the course out and back before and then just jogged around to stay loose. Made the start but didnt have enough time to get any strides. Race started out pretty quick and the first mile had a gentle incline. 4:48 pace. By the time we got to the first mile it was just me and Anthony Costales( Winner of Running of the leopards and Murray Days 5k). Second mile was mostly flat with a gentle decline and Anthony had about a meter on me. I mainly focused of staying close but I was really starting to hurt. Then we made a turn and transistioned from road to paved trail. I remeber looking at my watch and it said we were at 2.45 so about 1000 meters left and I thought "its go time, it has to happen sooner or later". So I made my move and was able to get about a 3 meter lead and from there to the finish I was running scared, when I made the final turn I looked back and I had around 20 seconds on Anthony so I just pushed to the finish. Watch said 14:53 official time 14:54. But I dont care about the second. It was a great race and helped me gain a lot of confidence and trust in my training.
