Freedom Run 10k (6.214 Miles) 00:33:14, Place overall: 8, Place in age division: 2 | Slow miles | Fast miles | Total Distance | 3.25 | 6.25 | 9.50 |
| Freedom run 10k today! Got to the race and warmed up for about 10 minutes then headed to the line with Jamison and coach. All the Lehi guys were there, as well as Jiree and Jiraa so I figured the 16-19 age group would be competitive. Was thinking of running conservative the first few miles, but when the gun went off I decided to just go for it and see what kind of shape i'm in. There was the lead pack a bit ahead of me with all of the college runners in it, and then the high school guys in a pack behind me a little ways. I ran by myself the whole first mile, came through in 5:06 then a kid from California came up and passed me so I just tucked in behind him for the next mile. Mile two was also 5:06. At this point another guy with a man bun came up and ran with us. Mile three was 5:12, so 15:24 for 3 miles. Here the California guy dropped off and I just tried to hang on to man bun guy. Mile 4 was 5:13 I think. At this point I was really starting to hurt and the slight uphill on the turnaround was killing me. Coming back around I saw I had a huge gap on everyone besides Connor, and it motivated me to keep pushing. Mile 5 was 5:30 then we turned up onto the last uphill mile to the finish. I was dying and just tried to hold Connor off, but with about 300 to go he passed me and I just kinda gave up. Finished in 33:14 for 8th place, and second in my age division. Last mile was like 5:53 haha, but overall I was very happy with the race. Shoutout to everyone who ran, twas a most excellent time.

| Hot run by myself on Bonneville Shoreline. Just went out for 30 minutes then turned around. Calves were super tight from yesterday, so I kept it nice and easy. Afterwards did 4x100 strides.
Also got AP test scores back, I got a 3 in Lit and Spanish, and a 4 in Art.

| Was busy all day, then was at Will's house until 10 for a ping pong tournament, so I didn't end up leaving on my run until 10:20. Did Alpine loop and it felt rather nice. My calves are finally back to normal so this run was a lot more enjoyable, and the temperature was perfect. Did strides when I got back.

| Actually was able to go to practice this morning! There was a bunch of people gone so it was just me, seth, Craik, the Bradshaws, Laurens brother, and a new kid. We did black trail with timberline loop, then dumpster. I was only supposed to go 50 minutes today, but it was so nice running with other people I decided to just finish the run with them. 4x100 strides after. While we were doing dumpster at the end Caleb and I found a cool ball thing someone threw away so we kept it.

| Went camping last night, then went straight to practice in the morning. It was just Craik, Justin, Seth, and I, so we did Hogs for the first time in a long while. Going up I felt really good, and on the long gradual uphill part I dropped them and waited at the gate. The whole trail is flat and wide now which was actually really nice on the part that used to be super rocky. When we got to the bottom of the trail we found an overgrown path that we took to avoid getting yelled at for trespassing in the construction zone. The trail went to this field, and in the field was a freaking viking seige tank thing. It was built on using the frame of a small bus or something and was decked out, and it even had a real crossbow mounted to the top. Words don't do this thing justice it was so cool. On our way out at the gate there was a security guard who yelled at us for a while, and threatened to arrest us but after a while he let us go in peace. Overall a very fun run, and we found out that Legacy Park is a Pokémon gym so thats also way cool.
