Adam's Running

My family is in Steamboat Springs for a week for vacation, so I am going to get a week of training at 7000 feet before I practice with the team, which is awesome. I ran on the Yampa River rail for three miles then turned around. The river is overflowing so I had to run through some foot deep water at parts, but it was fun. Coming back there was a pretty strong headwind so the effort was a lot more than I was planning on. Apparently we had a ton of guys at practice back in Utah today so that is sweet. Our main goal as a team this year is to qualify for nike, and I really think we can do it.

Didn't get a chance to run until 11 at night so I had to run on the treadmill. I was going to do more, but I hate treadmill running more than just about anything so I decided I am going to farther tomorrow instead.

Ran from the hotel in Denver today. Ran down a boring road until I found a park, did a couple laps, then found a cool trail and followed it for a while.Didnt feel good, but I think it's because I did two runs in a row without eating anything. We've driven past a bunch of Colorado high schools that Clayson would always tell us stories about. Makes me miss all the guys out on missions, but Tommy comes home in the next couple weeks so that will be exciting!

Went biking in Steamboat Springs today. Went on a sick trail that was about 14 miles long. First 7 miles was about 2000 feet of climbing, and was pretty difficult. Not very technical, just steep. Coming down was awesome and I was flying until I hit a puddle that was a lot deeper than it looked and went over the handlebars. Luckily I landed in some mud so the damage was minimal. Washed off in a stream then finished the ride. Didn't end up running later because my thigh hurt from hitting the handlebar, and I don't want to stress anything this early in the summer.

Went biking again this morning. Went up Emerald Mountain and rode around on the single track trails around there then came down on a way cool trail that wrapped all the way around the mountain. Later went running for 3 miles up to some hot springs where I met my family. It was only three miles, but it was all uphill and at 8000 feet so I was ok with such low mileage.

Went out for a 3 mile loop, came home went to the bathroom and went out for another 3 mile loop. I got to the turnaround point and was feeling awesome so I kept going until I got to the temple before I turned around. Did the run at 11 at night, but due to fireworks it was pretty busy on the streets. Also a group of small children started cheering for me and calling me Galen, but I didn't know any of them so I was kind of confused. I finally get to practice with the team tomorrow! should be a good time.
