I missed the bus to the meet because I took a nap and overslept, so I got a ride with Tommy. We got to the meet and started warming up, I was supposed to be the fastest in the second heat, but when I went to check in they told me that I was in the fast heat. The race started and I immediately faded into last place because they were hauling. I came through the 400 mark at 65. That was way too fast. I just hung on to the back of a kid from Hunter and we both fell off of the main group. I stayed behind him all the way through to until the last 100m where I surged past him and beat him by half a second. Afterwards I found out he was a freshman too. The two mile was cool because it was under the lights. It went out and I stayed with the second pack, which was a bad idea because at 1200 I realized we were going way to slow and I tried to get up to the next group but they were too far ahead. I ended up passing a couple more people and finishing in about 10:35. It was super dumb though because in the mile they had me at 4:38 and int he two mile they had me at 11:00. |
