Today was time trials, distance was doing the mile and 400 today. Since we had to wait for after track class to start we made the not so smart decision of playing basketball hard for an hour right before we ran, but my team ended up winning on a clutch three from Walton so it all turned out for the best. The mile was first and when we were warming up I didn't feel too good, but you can't feel good for every race. We went out and I just sat in fourth behind Marc and we came through 400 in 68. It felt in control and we just stayed in the same order of Clayson, Mike, Marc, then me throughout the next 800 meters. We came through 800 in 2:20, and I am not sure what our next split was. With 400 to go I passed Marc and made sure to make a move on the turn that he wouldn't be able to cover in the last 200 woth his kick. I was able to hold him off to the end and I came in at 4:45. Clayson ran 4:27, Mike ran 4:42, and Marc ended up in 4:49. It felt like a solid effort, but I definitely had a lot left in the tank after and I think I will be able to PR by a lot at Hurricane. We waited around for a while and got our heat assignments for the 400. I was in the fast heat, and it was all distance runners and Ryan Jensen. This was the first 400 I have ever run, and I didn't like it. I ended up in 59 flat, but I was a few seconds back from pretty much everybody else. Jon killed it for having been injured since Nike and ran a 53, beating Clayson and Marc.
