About 13 of these 15 miles were on hilly, snow packed trails.  This is my excuse for the 11:23 pace I averaged.  My average heart rate was only 144bpm.  Perhaps leg strength was slowing me down but it was tough going for much of it.  Really I think it was just a bit of an off day.  Regardless, it was a gorgeous day and I enjoyed myself!  Next time someone remind me to put sunscreen on my nose.

One very odd thing, I must have had 5 women talk to me while on the trail.  Not that I'm complaining.

Did these women run with you and talk...maybe the you look better now that it is not so hazy out there...just a thought.

How's the nose today, Rudolf? LOL Packed snow is considered a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 for running surfaces. Asphalt is somewhere around 6, dirt is like 8. Hilly snow pack trail has to be 0.5. Looks to be you had a nice xtraining run. It has got to add strength to your tendons and muscles.

5 women talked to you? Were they lost? Were they checking you out? Did you wear your cool looking sunglasses? Did you talk back to any of them? You got to be careful next time you run solo on a trail. You never know about these women lurking and stalking in them foothills. ;)

I did not run with any of them. I said hello to all of them, but I'm one of those annoying runners who tries to say hello or wave or nod to everyone I see.

One woman fell over in the snow (when we tried to pass) then said hello and explained how she falls all the time and not to worry about it. Two women called me Matt. Two women said something about seeing me again. I told them I must be Matt. The rest is just a blur.
