Went and did some open water swimming at Utah Lake and practiced sighting.  Water was pretty warm.  I was planning on wearing a wet suit for the race but now I'm not sure.  I wasn't grossed out by the lake until I went and looked in the mirror when I was done(green slimies on my face) and washed the lake water out of my suit.. yuck!  Did some bike to run transitions at Josse's afterwards.  Learned I can't peddle with my shoes clipped in! dangit.

PM Emi canyon. Was planning on pushing harder but was passed by some guys that weren't gaining any distance and I didn't want to pass them so just took it easy. Added in to make 20.

95* afternoon run. Went on the trail so I could take advantage of water fountains and not carry water. I think my body is pretty use to the heat. It was tough but doable.

First bike race in the books. Got up at six, ate and left for the race. Got there about an hour early, got the bike ready and warmed up/used the facilities/warmed up/used the facilities. Ate a banana and took a caffine gel about 10 minutes before the start. The caffeine made me a but jittery I think while waiting but it was helpful during. Race started at 8. I was nervous about starting in a pack of bikes cause I've never done it before but it was fine. At the start of the first real climb I was passed by a women that looked to be late 50's early 60's. She was a beast! The rest of the race went well. A few guys past me but I passed most of them back and passed a final guy at the sprint to the finish. Passed 2 girls toward the end. There was only 17 citizen women(about 105 men) total so it was pretty small but fun and I feel good about my effort. Last best time on this was 1:16:??. I learned a lot. Including there are several different ways to put your number on in a bike race so you need to make sure you know what way is being used :0) Good times.
Rode back down the canyon to the start and changed for my run. Rolling, decent sized hills but felt good. Came home, ate and went to the gym for a swim. Felt strong. Big race next week :0)
