Long term...mmm...hard one, just continue running and having the luck a running races to keep on the edge, every so often.

You will do fine Eric! Your calf issue just served to make you taper so you should be well-rested and fresh-legged for your marathon!

I don't think you should be nervous about the marathon, the training you have put in has been pretty faultless and the only times you didn't train was when injured (when it is a good idea not to train!).

Admittedly there is the chance that the calf could cause problems but I wouldn't worry about it, you have been doing all you can to fix it, so if it goes it goes (but hopefully it wont!).

The marathon really comprises two races, getting to the start line and getting to the finish line. You have 99% made it to the start line which a lot of people do not manage!
