Agreed that your comment was not racist. If you had said "beat those black bastards" then yes, that would be racist. Some people are just too sensitive.

Yay for the tendons, and careful with the shins... It seems I'm having a similar issue, switching shin pain for tendon pain... hopefully neither will hurt eventually!

I hope you can be pain-free soon! And no, I do not think your comment was racist! Some people are so oversensitive it is just silly!

All my boogers flew out of my nose when I read Rocket's comment! Nothing wrong with rooting for the underdog. The plain and simple fact of the matter is - anyone racing against those elite Africans has to be considered an underdog.

Yeah that was too much, I wish I could delete that comment... I was just trying to make a point...

I come from a culture where we say it like we see it and nobody gets offended... It's common to nickname a girl with darker skin "negrita", or with lighter hair "rubia", or a guy who is short "peti" or "petiso", or a guy with narrower eyes "chino", and they adopt those nicknames themselves. A very common loving name between couples, the equivalent of "Honey", is "gorda" (fat). Using a word to identify someone, like "she's black", "he's blonde" isn't racist, the racism is in the way it's used/expressed in a sentence, its intention, or the tone of the expression... but Eric's comment wasn't even about race, so it's not even on the same category!

I was rooting for the black bastards.

Filipinos, Mexicans, and Agentinians. If it ain't all right for them to make fun of other races, then I don't know who can.

That's right, Burt, we'll make fun of everyone on behalf of you Americans that are too sensitive to do it :)

From Eric Day on Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 17:08:25 from 200.52.199.152

That is the problem, Americans a too sensitive.

So, if we ever hear on a TV program "here comes the Mexican ...", I will sue the TV channel. Now, is this abusurd, or what?
