Almost there! What is your re-fueling plan for the half? Are you just taking water or sports drink, or are you taking in any actual food?

From Eric Day on Wed, Feb 18, 2009 at 14:19:47

I'll take a small bottle of sport drink. They will have plenty of drinking stations throughout the race, so why bother carrying more water.

On fuel, I have a couple of Gu's, guess that should be plenty.

No food, well, maybe a small bite before I leave home.

Looks like things are in place for a good run this weekend. I love my Garmin. Hopefully you get the hang of it before race day. The only advise I'd give is don't go out to fast. Nothing worse than the feeling of crawling home the last couple of miles. Remember to stay relaxed, easpecialy when you get tired. Good luck!!!! Looking forwards to your race report.

Paul, thanks.

I feel great. I really do feel very well, considering all the pain & things I've had, this is the best I've felt in ages.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try my best to make a good time for the FRB team!!!!

You'll do great Eric! Do you know when you'll be eating the gu? My mistake sometimes is that I don't take it until it's too late and I'm already feeling low in energy... it takes a few minutes for them to kick in...

Lucia, Gracias! Does km 7 & 14 sound good to you? I will only take two of them.

From Lucia on Thu, Feb 19, 2009 at 11:57:17

That sounds good, I think the usual is to take one every 40 minutes or so. If you're drinking a sports drink you may want to take only one, but that's a personal preference. So exciting!!!
