The blister on my foot became a big, open, raw sore. I had peeled away several layers of skin by continuing to run with an unprotected blister. No matter what I would try to cover it up, the friction of my shoes would wear the cover off and rub right on the sore. So, I eventually had to let it heal. I spent most of the week barefoot. I couldn't stand having anything press up against my foot. Sidelined by a blister. Today Teren rigged up a foam "donut" that I taped to my foot that kept my shoe from rubbing on my foot. It helped a lot, though I could still feel a little pressure on it.
I went to the club to try out my new blister treatment. If it started to hurt, I could stop and not have to limp home like I did last week. I ran 7 miles. My lungs felt great, but my legs took some time to wake up after a week of no running. My hip was a bit tight, so I stopped at 7. I followed up my run with a weight lifting session. Hopefully, I'm back on track. |
