Short-Term Running Goals:

I would like to run an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the marathon.

I would also like to run on one more international team before I pack it in!

 Stay healthy!  (My biggest challenge!)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run my whole life, and then live vicariously through my children. (just kidding) , but I do want to pass on a healthy lifestyle to them.

Help coach East High to a state championship. (hope it doesn't take a lifetime!)

Personal:

I've been running since I was nine.  I'm married to a fellow runner who inspires and supports me.  We have two children:  Cole (4) and Lily (18 mos.)  I help Bill Cobler coach cross country at East High School.

I was up really early again, so went to the gym to run.  I did a progression run again starting at 7.5 mph, and ramping up every half mile.  I got impatient at the end and started increasing the pace more frequently, finishing at 9.7 mph for the last minute.  Average pace was 7:17 per mile.  It feels good to start easy and build in.  I may have ended a little too hard . . . I will know if I feel it later this morning after the endorphins wear off.

I'm seventeen weeks tomorrow. Yeah. I get bored on the treadmill, so I start progressively getting faster. That's why I try to incorporate some runs where time is irrelevant. But, it's good to know I have a little turnover left in my legs.

Kassi, I'm trying to run consistently. I've been inspired by your post-baby comeback! We'll see how long I make it, because it's definitely getting harder.
