Long-Term Running Goals:

Run my whole life, and then live vicariously through my children. (just kidding) , but I do want to pass on a healthy lifestyle to them.

Help coach East High to a state championship. (hope it doesn't take a lifetime!)

Personal:

I've been running since I was nine.  I'm married to a fellow runner who inspires and supports me.  We have two children:  Cole (4) and Lily (18 mos.)  I help Bill Cobler coach cross country at East High School.

I felt worse today than yesterday.  My legs feel all right, it's just the rest of me that is so sluggish.  You know that candy bar commercial, where the swimmer is swimming in caramel?  I feel like I'm running through carmel, just really slow motion.  I didn't time todays run, just ran off of feel.  I ran out 4800, to the river trail, out to Bullion, and back.  I need to get it together for tomorrow.

while the feeling of running through caramel isn't fun, it actually might be an enjoyable thing to do for other reasons :)

nice job getting those miles in despite the sluggishness. i am sure it will come together tomorrow. good luck.

I'm obviously relatively inexperienced in the marathoning world, but I think the slow motion days are just part of what goes w/ training for these longer races. Some days are sluggish, and then all of a sudden it clicks.

The caramel river does sound pretty great.
