I would like to run an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run my whole life, and then live vicariously through my children. (just kidding) , but I do want to pass on a healthy lifestyle to them.

Help coach East High to a state championship. (hope it doesn't take a lifetime!)

Personal:

I've been running since I was nine.  I'm married to a fellow runner who inspires and supports me.  We have two children:  Cole (4) and Lily (18 mos.)  I help Bill Cobler coach cross country at East High School.

Some mornings it is difficult to get out the door and get going.  Luckily, this morning I had help from a little girl who wanted a drink 15 minutes before my alarm was set to go off.  I'm glad Lily is so concerned that her mom gets her run in.

I ran the 1300-7th-2700 loop . . . love the mile long hill from 6200S to 7000 S on 2700.  At least when I get to the top it is all downhill the rest of the way home

I dreamed about the Olympic Trials last night.  I was there watching, and Shalane Flanagan won, with Kara Goucher second.  I never did see who came in third.  The funny thing was, they only ran a half-marathon.  They ran 1:12-1:13, which would be a very slow half for them.  Kind of a funny dream.  Oh, and Ryan Hall won the men's race, sporting long hair and a handlebar mustache.

I hope your dream come true, and Ryan Hall comes out on Saturday sporting a Frank Shorter mustache!

There was a recent article in Running Times about the 1984 trials... what struck me most was not necessarily how the depth of fast runners was so much better, but HOW MUCH COOLER everyone looked with their long hair and all the different facial hair styles!

Yes, the facial hair was cool on the gentlemen, but I particularly enjoyed the ladies feathered bangs and briefs cut up to their armpits.
