I woke up to a major thunderstorm this morning, so no running.  This evening I have a cross country team barbecue, so I decided to cross train.  Since I am recovering from the half marathon still, this was actually a good idea.  My left quad seemed pretty sore.  I rode my spinning bike for an hour and a half at a steady state, increasing the resistance every fifteen minutes.  I watched Meet the Fockers on the tivo while I rode.  Thankfully, the kids napped the entire time so I could get the workout in.

P.M.  I ran the "fun run" at the team barbecue.  It was about a 3k.  I pushed Lily in the stroller.  Since she crossed the line before me, she was the winner.  8 months old and already won her first race!

...and so they wouldn't be exposed to Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand acting like old hippies.

nice cross training, and a smart thing to do after the hard race on saturday (also smart to avoid running in the thunderstorm).

Not a fan, huh, Bert? I will admit, everytime Dustin Hoffman came on the screen I kept seeing Rain Man. I like stupid movies to cross train to. I don't have to think, and I stay entertained. If the kids had been up, it would have either been Star Wars, or multiple episodes of Phineas and Ferb.

Actually I kinda liked that movie. Meet the Parents was a little Road Runner/Wiley Coyote, meaning a little over the top with anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I just wouldn't want my kids to watch it. Someone asked me the other day if they could let my 13 yo daughter watch Hancock. NO! lol
