Today I did the Octane really hard, 5.62 miles in 30 minutes during lunch. Really surprising because I figured I'd be tired from yesterday's workout. Then tonight, ran 12 miles in 1:22:12. Had 42:12 half way. Really surprised at how effortless it was (well, at least the first 10 miles) despite the 15F temperature and abundance of clothes I had to wear. Had to run on the Heritage trail since the wind was out of the NW, I wanted a tail wind on the way back. Still pain in achilles. I think it may be that my achilles is "bruised". No amount of stress or stretching it produces pain, but running, with the pressure from the back of my shoe, causes pain on the outside of it. My lower legs are twitching like crazy two hours later. Supposed to get down below 0 tomorrow night. Gonna be tough. |
