This was an interesting meet.  I have never been to this track before.  I would have preferred banked turns but the track was still pretty spiffy.  Not too spectator friendly but my parental units came with my brother and his wife.  A hot babe came with me ;)

David, Oliver, and I all went to run the mile.  When we got up to the line we found out that the other schools had dropped for some reason so we were the only 3 running it!  They must have gotten scared when they saw us.  It made the race pretty tough though because Oliver was up front by himself.  I normally pace off him and since he usually runs under 4:35 I figured I was right where I needed to be.  I should have been paying more attention to the time and how I felt because I was feeling too good to be going under a 4:40 pace.  We came across and swept 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!  Woop ;)  Not our best race though...

After about an hour of recovery we three ran the 800.  That was rather beastly.  It was funny because the main group of runners was out in front and then we three (who had just run the mile an hour before that) were about 8-10 seconds behind.  I ended up passing Oliver on the 3rd lap and he tried to catch up at the last stretch.  I didn't realize I was capable of kicking like that.  I got a 2:07.  Not too shabby.  It was a fun race.  I just didn't know how to race the 800 and wasn't used to that kind of speed.

It was a great day over all and it was great to have my family and a hot babe with me!

wow...amazing times on those races! Amazed that you had such a great kick on that 800 right after your mile, I think I'd still be in fetal position trying to recover!

A hot babe, huh? hmmm...I guess you have someone to thank for dragging her out on a long run mid-week so she could spend some time with her hot man! :)
