Ran hills on the Suncoast from 52 North. Easy up, harder on the way back. Really need to get my distance back. I need to be comfortable and confident in the 16 - 20 mile range not struggling at 13. Patience!

Are you just recovering from an injury? At least you are running 13 and feeling good! I am trying to get my miles and speed up. I guess patience would be good, but I've never had it! ha!

No injury just a well needed rest from a tough winter of training and racing. Last year was my first year training 50 miles/wk and up. All my race times came down including new PR's in the half & full. This summer I've backed off the mileage (20-25/wk)and done 5K's. Now I'm paying the price. Bottom line: you can't hurry marathon training. Be patient. Don't ramp volume and speed at the same time. Don't let one bad day dictate your future. Just keep running!

Hey Dixie, I've been terrible keeping up with my fast running blog friends, I wasn't sure if you were still posting. I've been feeling out of the loop on a lot of things lately.

I hope the rest does some good and in the end gives you the perspective that you need.
