Personal:

I'm married to a very supportive, although slightly less enthusiastic runner than I.  Alisha has run a little with me and participated in several 5k's, but mostly she supports me at races.  She ran her first half in November, 2011.  We have a son who was born in 2010, the year that I ran my first marathon.  I participated in my first Triathlon in April 2011.  I think I may have been bitten by the Ironman bug.  Though an Ironman finish is a long term goal, I want to BQ first.

I find that the more I run the more I want to run.  I consider my self a running addict.  I like the motto: pain is weakness leaving your body.

I ran ten this morning, which I am unable to refer to as an easy ten since I was off for ten days prior to the four mile run I completed yesterday.  I felt my left knee a little bit as I usually do if I've taken more than about five days off.  I'm may do cross training tomorrow or a brick workout followed by a trail run on Tuesday if there is time.

I wasn't going to run today, or if I did I was only going to run about 3 miles as part of a brick workout.  I decided at about noon just to run an easy 5 or 6.  I am not really accustomed to running in the heat yet since I do a majority of my runs early so the 88 degrees was quite a nice test.  I kept the pace easy at 8:19.

I started out this morning not knowing exactly how far I wanted to run.  After about one mile I decided that I would run for an hour instead of focusing on a distance.  I think I will focus all of my workouts on time for the next couple of weeks rather than distance.  It is nice to be able to just run sometimes.

I ran an 8:15 AP.  The temperature was a very nice 68 degrees.  We had some storms come through last night that cooled everything off a little.

I have been so fortunate to have nice cool mornings yesterday and today.  The temperature was 65 with winds of about 10 to 20 miles per hour.  I woke up at 5:15 for some reason, which is 45 minutes earlier than I usually wake up.  I went ahead and got my run out of the way early.  I think I might go back to running at 5:30 instead of 6:30 on weekdays.  It is so nice get back home and have a couple of hours to relax before I have to leave for work.

I did not go to bed early enough to get up for a 5:30 AM run.  I need to try to get back in the 10:00 PM bed time habit.  That said, I did feel I had a pretty nice run this morning.  The temperature was a perfect 54 degrees when I left the house.  My average pace was 7:57.
