Mountain to Fountain 15k (9.32 Miles) 00:51:46, Place overall: 22 | | Pretty good race today. Basically on par with what I've done lately but I had a decent finish and that always feels good. I was 27 seconds faster than last year and was sub 52 which is what I wanted. Splits were 5:43,5:25,5:24,5:19,5:26,5:33,5:44,5:50,5:27, 1:51 (.37). This race has big money so I ended up running with some of the top women for a lot of the race. The top men were well ahead and I only saw them after the race. There is a big hill at around 7 miles and I didn't have much after that last year so I left a little bit in the tank this year and was able to have a good finish. That helped my time a lot. This is a great race and the post race is awesome. Tons of good awards and lots of beer. I took home a dinner for four at Chipotle and a 12 pack of Kilt Lifter beer. My kids also had a great time playing in the grass and park. It was a great morning for running! | Comments(4) |
| | 6 miles very slow. Body is only a little beat up today which is an improvement over the last two races I've done. | Add Comment |
| | 8 easy. I felt pretty good this morning and was able to start the run without a limp from hip pain for the first time in a while. Started the Mrytl Routine cool down today. | Add Comment |
| | AM: 8 miles at a moderate pace. My body is feeling better and hip pain seems to be going in the right direction. That helped for a bit of a faster pace this morning. PM: 4 miles easy + 6 x 10 second hill sprints | Add Comment |
| | 12 miles with 6 easy then last 6 progressing from marathon effort down to 15k effort. Splits for last six were 5:58, 5:49, 5:44, 5:41, 5:37, 5:35. This one got tough towards the end. My legs were a little sore and tired from some strength exercises I started but I am feeling as healthy as I have for a while. | Add Comment |
| | 8 miles with 3 x 1 mile repeats with 2:55 jogs between. Not a huge workout but faster for me. Splits were 5:07, 5:06, 5:05. It was hard but I'm confident I could have done another one at that pace. I'm happy with this one. I haven't done miles this fast for a while. I hope to be able to run this pace at the Carlsbad 5000 on April 7. | Add Comment |
