BUT they make you a very strong runner, or so I read in Runners World. I am guessing this is P90X?

Yep, I just finished day 9 (10%). I'm doing it as an off season workout, or at least I'm going to attempt it. I've never been much for working out other than running. I don't care about the looks, body sculpting, etc. I just want to run faster.

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 05, 2010 at 21:34:10 from 71.219.65.246

Well, I think it works at making you faster.

Stronger=Faster

I do think that resistance training helps you be able to run faster. I don't know the science of it all, but when I was doing focused resistance with a trainer I felt like I was a stronger, faster runner. I've lost a bit of that now...

Thanks guys, I'll need the encouragement. I already missed this morning. I couldn't sleep last night and decided on an extra hour of sleep. I can't keep doing that. I just makes it easier to miss the next one.

No kidding! I give myself a week after a marathon to sleep and it is SO hard to get back at it the next week. I hate early mornings. Maybe I will switch to nights for a bit, the weather is good right now.

I just caught up on your blog. I bear you my testimony that P90X does make you faster. Now, plyometrics is tough, but you'll get used to it. By the end you're going to think it's not tough enough. Kenpo was difficult at first. Remember, drive the hip and envision punching Oprah or Jimmy Fallon in the face. Chest and back, lots of push-ups and pull-ups. You're supposed to do maximum reps. I don't recommend that in the first three weeks. Pace yourself. Do 5 or 6 each time to get yourself to the end of the workout.

Go Chad!

a testimony, burt? that is grounds for being removed from this site. however, i know you have been there and done that, so i guess your advice is good... er...true?

good job, chad. stick with it! it can only make you stronger.

allie, come on! If you don't bear your testimony, you lose it.
