LM warmup (10 reps), 12 miles in 1:35:45, 7:56/mi, HR 160, & stretching. Sunny and warm (78F). A shortened version of the 14 miler I've been doing the past few weeks. Packed along 2 hand-held water bottles to combat the heat & the sun. Am going to call this a progression run since I spent the 2nd half chasing down the 8 minute guy. For whatever reason, I was really zapped during this run. By the turnaround, I was already pretty tired and my legs were jello by mile 9. Felt like mile 40 of 50. Not sure if its just the sun and heat or if I'm not getting enough rest. Really trying to get some extra sleep this week without much luck so far. Back is still sore from this weekend. |
