Personal:

I know Sasha from the CS program at BYU. We both graduated in 1997. He probably doesn't remember me, because he was definitely more vocal in class and among the students than I was.

Married to Teresa with 3 kids: Anders (4), Kristian (9), and Zoe (12).

Fluent in Danish, but there is obviously very little need for that.

5 miles with some frequent stretching stops before the drive back to Utah. I don't know what's going on, but I was really tight this morning.

Tight- but a little better than yesterday. I was breathing heavy on this mornings run at home in UT. It's funny how just a few days can make it so I lose the altitude advantage of living at 4500 ft.

Lunch: swam 800m

The usual 5 mile hilly loop. Things were ok today after the mile warmup. I am on my second day of ibuprofen, so I should see things improve back to normal by tomorrow or Friday. Ibuprofen is great for pain, but it usually takes 48 hours for it to work effectively on inflamation. At least that's what Dr Toronto taught me. I'll continue the 400mg 3xday dosage and then cut back to 200mg on Friday, then 0 on Saturday.

PM: 6:30 spin class with Christin. I'm going to try to make most of the Wednesday spin classes. It's a great way to get some good cross-training in during the winter.

Uneventful 5 miles this morning. Things are feeling pretty good now. Inflamation is down. I'll continue to stretch and ween myself off the ibuprofen on Friday.

Felt great this morning. I gave myself a running warmup and tried not to start too fast. I ran the entire hill course and felt better the whole time as I went faster. Started at about an 8:00/pace and got up to 6:30-7:00 the last couple miles.

Signed up for the Painter's half marathon in January. I'm in the series, so I'll probably also do the Hurricane half marathon in May, but I'm not sure.

Time to ween off the Ibuprofen- I'm just taking 200mg 3x/day today and tomorrow, then I'm done. Hopefully, the stretching while the achilles aren't inflamed will help restore me back to 100% without relying on anti-inflamatories. I was free of inflamation a few weeks before St George while on Prednisone, but it came back after I went off of it. I was doing higher mileage at that time, so I'm hoping the low mileage I'm doing right now coupled with stretching and cross-training will do the trick.
