Didn't get much sleep. Got up in the middle of the night because I was wide awake and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to watch Deliverance. Not the best "help you fall back to sleep" movie.

Anyway, once I got my butt out of bed and on the street, I felt ok. Not as cold as I expected.

I lifted weights last night -- first time in about 10 months. I will be glad I started up again in about two weeks. For now it kind of sucks. That and a cold that can't decide if it wants to hit me in full force or not had me feeling pretty lousy this morning. But I went out anyway and as usual, I felt better somewhere around mile 2. I didn't push myself, but put in the miles becasue pain is always better than guilt (almost always).

I took Wednesday off. The cold had gotten worse and I needed a rest day. Still feeling kind of lousy this morning, but I went out and ran anyway -- slowly. Besides the cold in my head my boobs hurt (pecs actually). Still sore from working out on Monday.

Pouring down rain the whole run. I was smart and didn't bundle up under the rain jacket this time, so I didn't get too hot. When we got to the corner of Duane and Ustick, there was a small break in the cars after a school bus. Randy said "should we go?" I didn't say anything until the bus passed and then I yelled "no." By then Randy had taken off and had to wait for my wussy butt to cross after a big line of cars went by.

The kids had a birthday party in Nampa today, so I killed time by going for a run. I started at Lone Star Middle School and took Lone Star Rd. to Lake Ave and along side Lake Lowell for a little ways then Iowa Road to Middleton and back to the school.

I hadn't run anyplace new for a long time, so it was really nice. Saw some chickens, cows and llamas (or alpacas. I can't tell the difference). I had also never seen the lake before. It's a lake. About all I can say for it.

It was also nice to run in shorts for a change.
