Carson City, NV 11:30am

Pace: 8:34

I planned on doing my first Ogden long run on Saturday, but since I had a free day today I figured I could get it out of the way and spend Saturday with the family.

It was a good plan except that I think I worked it too hard on Tuesday and Wednesday. I was kind of sore and tired before I even started. The first 13 miles worked out pretty well. I went around the west end of town feeling pretty good and keeping a decent pace - around 8:10.

Then I stopped off at the hotel to refuel and when I went back out I felt like hell. I bonked at 15.5 miles. I found myself sitting in the parking lot of the Nugget Casino wondering how I was going to get back to the hotel.

So, I went over to a gas station and bought a bottle of water. Drank half of it and took off down Carson Street and slogged it out back to the hotel. I'd planned on doing 20, but ended up at 18. Next time I'll prepare a little better.
