Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

Lunch - 5 miles on the treadmill, followed by ab work.  A variation of planks where I did plank lifts, then side planks, then leg lifts.  Run felt good, shins are still a little bit sore, but no more than before.  Easy runs the rest of this week (I promise!).

Every couple of days I crank out 50 sit-ups. I don't know if it helps at all because they seem too easy. Any suggestions. I've never really done crunchies because I believe in full range of motion when working out.

Situps are good, but the problem is that they don't work the deep core muscles that are needed for running. If you want a really good workout, try doing planks. From laying on your belly, raise up onto your elbows (under your shoulders) and toes and hold the position for 10-20 seconds. You will feel the burn. You can work your way up to longer times. For variations, you can go to each side to work the obliques, or even do the plank raises, where you raise one leg off the ground from the plank position. Try 'em - guaranteed to rock your world :)
