Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

AM - no run

PM - ran 6.1 easy miles.  It rained out this afternoon and evening, so it was quite nice out.  I lost the sound on my Garmin a couple days ago, and support had me try a couple things to get it back (why I don't know), including upgrading the unit software version and chipset version, then performing a master reset, which lost all of my settings.  Still no sound.  Grrr.  Just got an email back from them, I will have to send it in to have it fixed.  Double Grrr.  Oh well.  I will send it back as soon as we get back from Thanksgiving.  Total time for today's run was 48:05, average pace of 7:52/mile.  Felt a little clunky today, couldn't find that rhythm during any part of the run.  Some runs are like that.  It was still good, and I was glad I was able to get out.  I was a bit worried, because it was actually thunderstorming out, and the lightning was pretty near and appeared to be either hitting the ground or getting very close to it.  Thankfully that had dissipated by the time I went out to run.

Good job on your run, James. Too bad about your garmin. I bet some of your toxic sweat leaked in and corroded something. Hehehe.

But seriously, what is a Garmin without the beeping? It's like Christmas without presents...a little.

Anyway, good luck on your race this weekend. Can't wait to read the race report. Wink wink.
