| | I went for a 5 mile tempo later in the day, because the temperature was negative until about 12. 5 miles in 28:08. I feel like last week I was just sick, and with the roads bad, that explains my slower than regular times for the 5 mile tempo. During the tempo it was really hard to breathe, but after a while I felt alright. After I went 3 mile cool down, then 3 miles inside at the rec. center with my dad and sister.

| | I wasn't feeling the best today, so I decided I would go easy instead of tempo. After a while during the run I felt better, and hit two miles at sub-6 min. mile pace, but they were both downhill, and I felt like I was pushing it more. | Add Comment |
| | I wasn't sure on what type of run to do today, because I skipped yesterday's workout and went easy, and today was supposed to be easy. I decided on a 5 mile tempo run. It was a bit warmer today, but I still froze. It was 15 degrees when I left, and 9 when I got back. I felt alright during the run. It hurt, but I was pushing it. Splits: 4:59(downhill), 5:47(uphill), 5:29(uphill, then downhill.), 5:26(downhill), 5:45(uphill). After I was going to do 3 miles cool down, but during the 1st mile my hands froze worse than usual and I turned back early, making it only 2.25. | Add Comment |
| | 6 easy. During the first 3(it was a there and back run up the canyon) I felt great. Then once I hit the turn around point, things all turned around. My stomache started acting up, and for the next three miles I was looking for a bathroom that was open. Sadly none of the park or golf course bathrooms are open in the winter. Then during my last mile, I stepped in a puddle, and the skin around my foot later started rubbing off, and every step after that hurt. Great weather though, up to 30. | Add Comment |
| | The biggest obstacle in this run was getting myself out there and running. I felt good, except the button of my left foot has been hurting for a few days, and today during the first few miles it hurt worse than ever, but later it felt better. The weather was good though, it rained and it got up to 36 degrees today. That's the highest it's been this year. I'm hoping for an early spring!! | Add Comment |
| | I decided I needed to do a workout that focused on pacing/speed work. I ran to Sky View's track and did some 400 repeats at 3200 pace with 50 seconds of rest between them. I did these 8 times, to make it like a 3200. During my first one I realized not all the track in lane one was clear. On the back stretch it was pretty icy and I was slipping in a lot of places. My first one was a 72(slower than I wanted) and then the rest were 70s or 71s. After my legs felt terrible, and I did a easy lap before I ran home. For some reason I just didn't have any energy on the way home and running felt like a chore. Atleast I got a good workout in. | Add Comment |
