High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

11 after school.  I did 1.25 on a treadmill at a decent pace with a 2% incline, but I wasn't feeling that great, so I went in a gym and ran there. Some were with Ethan because he was there too.  I did one, then timed the next 2 at a 6 min. mile pace.  It just wasn't working out on that indoor "track".  I did a four more after that at about 6:30 pace, and then one easy.  After I went and did a fast one with 1.5-2% incline on a treadmill at 5:17, then after .75 miles easy to get to 11.

I didn't know what to expect for a run today, but I decided to time it and determine the distance in my first few miles.  I did a 5 mile tempo, but due to the cold, snow, and the ice on the road, it wasn't as fast as usual.  Splits: 5:30, 6:03, 6:06, 5:40, 6:00.  After I came inside my house and warmed up for a few minutes before going another 3 miles.  When I left it was 4 degrees, when I got back it was 7.  I can't wait for spring/summer.

5 mile tempo at 50 sec. faster than yesterday.  The temperature was in the low 20s today, and the roads were clear except for about a half mile of the run.  These were the best conditions I've ran in this year.  After I did 3 miles easy.

Splits: 5:11, 5:55, 11:20(for two), 5: 57.  Overall time: 28:24.  It's a weird thought that in a few days I'm putting more milage in than in a full week of last year at this time.

     6.  They were supposed to be easy, but I put a little push in them for the first 4 and a half miles, and then my calves started to hurt a bit more than I thought they should for that pace, so I slowed down.

3 indoors.  2 on an indoor track, one on a treadmill.  I wasn't feeling that great either.  Tomorrow is the Weber meet.

I woke up early and we drove for about an hour to get to the meet.  I did a few warm ups, because I didn't know when the race was going to start, above a gym on another "track."  I didn't really have any big goals in this race, except to get better then last week.

3200-We started out, and my start was horrid, but it was the two mile, so it didn't matter much.  I caught up to the front by the time we went around it once.  I led for the next 10 or so laps.  Our first mile was 4:45, just like last week.  All my splits up to here were pretty even, mostly 35s, and some 36s.  After the mile mark, I started to slow though.  Jordon Cross passed me and led for the rest of the race.  On one of the turns someone wouldn't let me lap them and Jordon caught a bigger lead on me.  After that I just didn't want anyone else to pass me.  Most people had me at a 9:31 or :32, but the official time had me at 9:33.

1600-4:37, 3rd place.  After a bunch of running for warming up and waiting, the race finally started I had the second fastest time coming into it, but my main goal was just to go faster than last week.  I knew that I could atleast do that with this field.  We started, and I got a great start.  I just stuck myself right behind Ricky Faure and Jordon Cross, because I thought Ricky Faure would run fast (he ran in the 4:20s last week indoors, but this track was a bit better, so I thought it would be faster.)  Our first 200m was 34/35.  Slower than it should've been.  We came across the 800m mark at 2:20.  That's my 2 mile pace.  I tried to make a move there and push the pace, but so did Jordan.  He told me I could go, so I did, and I ran in the lead for a lap after that.  After Jordan and Ricky passed me and I just was lazy and didn't think anyone would pass me, so I just kept the pace I had at the first.  Jordan won it, and Ricky took 2nd.  Jordan ran a 2:08/:09 last 800, while I ran a 2:17.  I ran negative splits for the first time ever for me, but I'm disappointed how this race turned out.  I don't have another one for a few weeks, so I'll have something to build on. Afterward I did a long cool down with Chuk.

Later PM-Ran 2 miles around my uncles neighborhood to put in a few more miles.
