Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

AM-6 We were in Price visiting our cousins, and without the inversion, it was great. I didn't bring my regular running shoes, but I ran in the ones I've been walking in.  They are more of a shoe to keep you on your toes(I've always used pronation control shoes for training), so they made my calves a bit sore, which was good.  No knee pain, little hip pain.

PM-4 easy around the block 4 times.  My legs felt great.

First hard run in 8 days.  5 miles tempo.  I wasn't feeling very good at the start, which is weird, because I've felt great the last 6 days(overall I mean).  I didn't start my watch for the first two miles, and had to go off of how long the songs on my iPod were.  27:23 for the run.  I then went on a cool down to go get my hat, but I was feeling terrible, so I asked my sister to go with me, and she did.  It ended up being a longer cool down than I thought.

Later ran 4 on a trial in Logan Canyon with Steve, Walter, My dad and sister, and some other people who's names escape me right now.  It was pretty fun, and my hip didn't hurt.

6 miles later in the day.  It was amazing weather for most of the day, but when I went out it was starting to cool down to 30 degrees.  It was 43 earlier, and bright and sunny.  I won't procrastinate again.  Easy run, I felt great.

5 miles tempo, with a short cool down because I had to bring my brother to his cello lesson.  I think I'll run a little more tonight.  Total time:26:41.  Splits as I can remember: 4:50(downhill), 5:40(uphill), 5:15(no net elevation change, but very hilly), 5:07(downhill), and 5:39(uphill).

3 miles after dinner. I wouldn't recommend eating clam chowder and a big dinner before a run.

Ran with Tyson, Stockton, and Ethan.  It was at an easy pace, but didn't feel too easy.  I just felt really lazy today.

7.25 miles trail run in Logan Canyon with Ethan and Stockton.  It looked beautiful and warm, but I wanted to show them a trail, but it ended up being one of the few places near Logan that wasn't sunny or warm.  We walked when it got too steep to run, but running down was scary!

3 miles around the block 3 times.  I felt good, it was easy not running in the snow and hills.
