Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Hard day today.  We had the Cache-Box invite.  I was fresher than yesterday, but still pretty tired.  I was planning on gettinng a 9:40 in the 3200m as a workout, but not all out race, then trying to get qualified in the 1600m.  Well I realized it was a lot harder to run a 9:40.  Anyway, I was planning on pacing a 4:50 first mile and just trying to keep the pace, but that didn't go well.  My first 200m was a 31, so I slowed down quite a bit.  Splits were everywhere, so I didn't keep note, other than the mile was 4:45.  JD from Mountain Crest was behind me for the first mile before falling off pace.  After I cooled down/warmed up for the mile.  After the cool down I got on my spikes, then stretched and then we started.  I didn't have enough energy to get the 4:24 I wanted, so I just sat for the first 600m, and then kicked.  400m was 1:10, 800m was 2:17, 1200m was 3:22, 1600m was 4:27-28.  Cooled down after.

Kind of hard just a few days after such a big race at Arcadia. You can only go to the well so many times so it's totally understandable that this meet was a tough one.

Are you doing the Sky View Invitational Saturday? I would assume, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

We are on Spring Break now and have no meet scheduled for this weekend and I was thinking of sending Kramer up to take a shot at our slow (9:17) school record for 3200.

Yeah, I'm running in it. It'd be great to have him come up here, he could even come up and stay at my house if he wanted the night before.

Cool. Runnercard doesn't list the schools competing so I can't tell if there's any competition in the distance events besides you.

I'll get in touch with Kramer about it. Meanwhile, I'll go ahead and register him in the 3200. You can send him a text or give him a call if you want.
