Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Longest day since October 10th!  It went okay, but it was great to run.  The goal was to run atleast 3 miles tempo, or 5k, and see how I hold up.  I warmed up well, and everything felt pretty good.  A little foot pain, maybe I need new shoes, but it was still good.  After I took a layer off and was about to start when my iPod died.  haha, of course.  Anyway, I ran the first 1000m with relative ease.  Around here though my calves felt like they were hit with a hammer. They just hurt so much.  I finished the mile(it was a little quick, but not something too insane. 4:48) and stopped.  I tried to start up again after a minute break, but it would have put me too far back, so I pulled the plug.  I then cooled down for a bit, then ran 4 miles(Dr said I could probably run up to 8 miles today, as long as nothing hurt injury wise) at a progressive slower pace. Last 4 miles were 6:07, 5:53, 5:48, 5:23(I got a little excited the last few laps, and it felt good.) I'm ready to start getting faster again

1 hour of pool later.  Maybe core tonight too.

That's the best news I've heard in a long time Conner! It must have felt great to be out there.

No rush, Conner. Play it right, listen to your body, and you'll have an outstanding outdoor season. Good luck!
