I want to set some new PRs this year.

Personal:

I started running in 2001.  My first 5K was the Salt Lake Classic that year.  I ran it in just under 33 minutes.  I was excited that I could run the whole distance.  My dad and I joked around about doing a marathon, but then we decided, "Why joke about it when we could actually do one?"  We trained for the Top of Utah marathon the next year and ran it in 5:38.  It was such a great feeling of accomplishment!

It's been fun to see how I've improved over the years. It's been such a blessing in my life to have met so many other running friends and to train under such a dedicated and selfless Coach (Bill Schmid).  I hope to keep improving and thriving in the great sport of running!

I did a City Creek run today.  I went late enough in the day that I avoided the thunderstorm.  I maybe only saw two runners and one biker there the whole time. 

On the way back down, I did three tempo miles.

1- 7:33 (from mile marker three to two)

2- 7:10 (from mile marker one to the gate)

3- 6:18 (memory grove)

I'm getting excited for the summer games in a couple of weeks!

Amazing times. How much rest in between tempo miles?

I rested/jogged about 10 minutes between miles. I would love it if I had splits like that for a 5k! Maybe someday.....

Oh my! You could easily do a 3:40 marathon. Awesome!

Hey, thanks! I will say the tempo miles were downhill, so that helped a lot. I seem to train well, but when it comes race time, I don't seem to perform as well as I should. But that can change! We can both do a BQ in St George!
