Monday - 7.84 miles MR and I went out for a run on a new route I had seen by connecting roads on Google earth. It was supposed to be around 4 miles. We ended up on a back country road with hills, no shoulders, ditches, and rain. Neither one of us was happy for a few miles, but I was just sure that the connecting road was right around the next turn. I was wrong. So wrong.
Tuesday - 3.32 miles. I didn't stray far from home after our little adventure yesterday.
Thursday - we went for a bike ride thinking we could find where two trails connected- we were wrong and decided to just stop while we were ahead and go back into the neighborhood to explore.
Friday - 6.3 miles. I decided to start on the other side of the trail today. We ran by it on Monday and it seemed to me like it should connect with the trail I usually run on. It got really rocky and rooty, but at the the end of the trail I had the most amazing experience. A rock in the middle of a small clearing at the end of a peninsula of land where the river bends back on itself. The trees were raining down leaves as I sat on the rock and took in the beauty of it all. It was an amazing run until the last .75 miles when I was almost home and the bottom of my foot started hurting like crazy. It hurt worse than it did when I was running the ultra.
Saturday - I was supposed to run with Terri, but my foot hurt so bad I had trouble walking. So we walked up to the park, got an ice cream cone at the lake, and walked back. It was so good to be able to visit with her again. We walked albout 13 miles.
