| | just a little something to help me get going in the morning. Rained on me for 5 minutes the first mile, which made the rest of the time a rather humid sauna run. cleaned up our bikes with some bug & tar remover in the afternoon. 6000 miles of bug carcases don't remove easily. Most of them are gone :-)

| | Waited for some daylight before heading out, so I didn't have to wear my headlamp. It was more humid than hot, but after a mile I was warm and the humidity was icky. I took a stretch break at mile 2 and headed back home. Went for the overpass run today. That one stinky little overpass kicks my trash. Saw something terribly dead and squished, but could not identify. So instead I have this to share: It really wasn't as dark outside as it looks, just the angle makes it look that way. In front of me was a corn field. The corn stalks are all brown and dried up, but there is pretty purple morning glory growing among the stalks. We've had a bunch of butterflies around here lately too. Lots of little yellow and orange ones.

Ran 4 miles in the rain with Wyatt, then we walked for another mile. Time went by so quickly having someone to chat with.
Going to go for a bike ride later on in the day, but more thunderstorms and rain kept me grounded. Got to watch 2 movies Marie Antoinette and Million Dollar Baby . Glad I bought the mega-pack of microwave popcorn. The weather forecast looks dismal for the rest of the week.

| | Tried to run at the park while mini-me was at an appt. Would someone please make the rain go to a place where they want and need it? I swear I think I am living in the pacific northwest. I really am tired of the clouds and rain. I have mushrooms growing in my backyard for crying out loud! At least the temperatures could be cooler- instead I just have a perpetual sauna.
I started out too fast, so my third mile was slow since it was uphill and I was tired. Avg pace 9:40.

| | Got to wear my new shoes I bought yesterday. It was about time too- 586 miles is too many miles on a pair of shoes for me. When I put the new ones on, I realized how bad the old ones had gotten. I kept waiting for some super deal to come along, or to find the same shoe I'd been running in on clearance. But it wasn't meant to be. I had to go try on a new model (which ended up fitting great, but I'm always nervous about new models) and pay through the nose for the shoes and the superfeet. Happy Birthday money to me :-) I ran on the trails with MR. Some good hills, some sand, and a little bit of climbing up an embankment of shrubs because the road we were on just ended, and we didn't have time to back track. I got 3 thorns embedded in my leg and felt super tough. Overcast & humid, but breezy enough to make it feel nice enough to run at 630 in the morning.

| | Ran barefoot on the beach today. The mileage is an estimate- I didn't track the distance or the time, so the mileage is my best guess. The beach was very windy and strong rip currents today. I wondered if it was due to some tropical storm somewhere churning up the ocean. So I ran, and got to do a lot of reading and relaxing. Perfect.
