Ran my 10K route to the p-town light.  I had a vicious dog run out onto the road at me twice.  Once on my way down to the light, and again on the way back.  I screamed for the owners to come get their dog off of me or I would shoot it.  The finally came for the dog and I was grateful that a car came and kept the dog off me.  The owners just shrugged at me, saying "what can I do?"  On the way back, it was the same exact scenario.  I finally asked the owners what I should do.

I told them I was going to run on the road, and although their dog was trying to protect it's property, the road was NOT their property, and I would shoot their dog if it came out after me again like that.  I asked them what I could do so I could be safe and their dog would be safe.  His suggestion, "just pet her."  Yeah, like I"m going to put my hand out at the beast that's barking, snarling, bearing it's teeth and has it's hair standing up on end.  NOPE.

He ended up giving me his number so I can call ahead when I'm going to be running by & they'll put the dog up.  I'd like to call ahead and let the police stop by and pick them up for being drunk & stoned before 9 am.  We'll see.

On a positive note, I did see this sad little crushed turtle on my way home.

what a sad, good note! :)

I think dogs should be shot if they're going to act like that, or maybe the owners if they're douche bags!

Seems these owners aren't too concerned about their dog.
