So, it was 6 degrees out this morning, the coldest all week.  But I dressed well and had a nice run around Federal Heights, Avenues, and Memory Grove. I think I saw Adam RW on 11th Ave but he was running in the opposite direction and so bundled up that it was hard to tell.  The coldest part was running toward the mouth of City Creek canyon; there was a steady wind blowing out of the canyon and I thought my chin was going to freeze and break off my face. It didn't, fortunately.

I'd kill for 6 degrees. Lucky dog.

But Paul, I thought you liked the cold?

I know, Paul, we're spoiled.

It's a love-hate relationship. Mostly I just like the hot showers afterward.

Chad, How couldn't you recognize me in my 12 layers of clothing and ski mask? Considering the conditions you were running smooth and I agree up the canyon was by far the worst part of the run for temperature.

Chad, What's the deal with the Ho-Ho 10 miler tomorrow? You going to be there? Is this more like a 10 mile training run for fun? I'm on the fence. I would like to get in a quicker run but don't need to "race".

From c h a d on Fri, Dec 11, 2009 at 16:49:18 from 67.42.252.25

It's hardly a race. You should come.

Paul- I have a love-hate with the post-run showers. It's painful for the first few minutes as the hands defrost, then gets better. So if you have a love-hate with cold weather, do you also with warm showers?

From Paul on Fri, Dec 11, 2009 at 17:02:06 from 76.27.122.123

No, I usually let my hands defrost for a few minutes first. Plus, I'm getting better about keeping my hands relatively warm.

In fact, you should all come to the Holladay Holiday 10 miler tomorrow. likely to be warm with a 7:30 am start, and a very good time running amok on the streets of Holladay. email me if you want info. Cody did it last year.
