Half-marathon: 1:41:41, 8/28/2010 Short-Term Running Goals: Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;) Long-Term Running Goals: I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life. Personal: I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family). Favorite Blogs: |

| | On the treadmill at the gym with Eric, 8:34 for all. Everything he said about this morning was true. I'm thinking about writing a letter. |

Eric had suggested that I stay in bed since I didn't get to sleep right
away last night, but I knew that if I didn't go in the morning I
wouldn't want to go after work. I had a little less time at the gym because I had to defrost my window and take a bathroom break, but I was still glad to get in 3 miles (pretty much 8:34 for all) before going home to get ready and catch the bus. PM: I realized on the way home that I had 97 miles for the month, so I thought about doing the Homecoming 5K course to get to 100. But it was super cold and slickery and dark outside, so I went to the gym instead. The first mile was very slow at a 5% incline, and the last two miles were flat at 8:34.

| | In the morning at the gym with Eric. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is an excellent treadmill movie. Eric and I should be super hot assassins-for-hire.

| | I think the 4:45 am wakeups are catching up to me. I really wanted to stay in bed this morning, but I figured it wouldn't help that much since I was already awake. Two very slow miles and one at 8:00. Eric said on his blog that I'm pregnant, so it must be true. At least I'm not getting fatter for nothing. Maybe you want to read my "I'm pregnant" blog? puffyrunner.blogspot.com

| | I slept in until about 6:45 and had a great plan to run at Liberty Park with Tigger after work. But I was *so* tired after work that I just went home and was in bed by about 6:30. |

| | 5 miles running a little bit slower than normal, and 2.5 miles walking at 15:00. I feel a little weird counting my walking miles, but it was on the treadmill and gallowalkers do it, so there it is. |
