Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

I got to go watch Eric ride his bike up around Coalville and Evanston this morning, so I ran around on the race course a bit (8.6) while I was waiting between feed zones. I felt pretty grungy around the clean and nice-smelling wives at the finish line, but I didn't see them at the 6:00 am start or holding musettes (I just learned that word yesterday) at the feed zones, so whatever. After we got home and took a nap I did 3.2 more at Liberty Park to get 30 for the week.

It was really neat seeing Eric race. I think that seeing each other try hard at things and sometimes do well and sometimes do less well helps us bond or something. Plus I really like his cycling outfits.

Nice miles Catherine. Way to push for a strong week. Way to support your husband too. That was not only nice, but seemed like a bit of work.

Thanks Jun. It was pretty easy helping out - I was just worried about accidentally knocking him off his bike while trying to give him stuff in the feed zones. :)

I like the cycling outfits too Catherine, and it is cool watching cyclists race. They go so fast!
