Personal:

I go to TCU and am a member of the TriFrogs team here. I just started training for triathlons in August 2010. I ran track throughout high school, but always hated long distance until this summer. Something inside me snapped and I found out that I love it! Unfortunately, I got a stress fracture due to overtraining for a half marathon I was aiming to do in December, but I should be back on my feet soon! In the meantime, I've significantly improved in the biking and swimming! Stay tuned to watch me grow!

This was a brick workout. I swam 100 yds for a warmup, did a 1400 yds until 5 minutes before cycling class, jumped out of the pool and practiced transitioning. In cycling we started with a cardio lung/leg workout and were on the bikes alternating climbing and sprinting with short rests between. Overall the swim took about 26 minutes, the cardio lasted 15 minutes, and the bike lasted 45 minutes.

Hi! Thanks! My dad actually told me about this site. I'm hoping to get all of my workout logs from this year up on here soon so I can get feedback on how to train better. Which Ironman are you shooting for? I think I want to do Kona eventually, but I still haven't decided!

Yup Kona is the one I want to do. I have my first marathon in April. I'm currently bidding on a road bike right now on ebay...got 45 mins left..I hope I win. This will be my first bike and the training will begin.

Correction I Just Run, most everyone on the Blog is very helpful. There are a few clowns that don't know what they're doing. I'm not going to mention any names.

From I Just Run on Tue, Feb 08, 2011 at 17:49:57 from 67.79.11.242

Uh...Oh...Burt, are you talking about me...nah...I don't think I've given any advise except to Callie...and she's my daughter so I can do that...the Blog has all been fun anyway...

BTW...Callie, someone gave me a hard time about using my real name on the Blog so I came up with IJR...

From Burt on Tue, Feb 08, 2011 at 17:59:07 from 206.19.214.144

I'm thinking I could figure out your name. Give me 20 minutes.

She's going to be like, "What the heck are these 8 emails in my inbox???"

Hi Callie! Welcome to the blog! I think Burt is talking about someone who's name rhymes with "hurt". He may not always give great advise but he will usually give you reason to smile! It's great to have you and your dad on the blog! Wish my dad were a runner and a blogger! Good luck with your recovery!

From I Just Run on Tue, Feb 08, 2011 at 18:33:38 from 67.79.11.242

Hey....wait a minute Kim...I didn't claim to be a runner..."I Just Run"...ha ha

Burt--we clowns very much think we know what we are doing!! From Callie's pic, it looks like she fits in just fine...
